The Kameleon Group provides a mobile therapy service and can provide services in your home, school, pre-school or local community centre or in our new offices in Dee Why. We specialise in disability and Autism Spectrum Disorders. We offer specialised training programs for Schools, carers and parents in the techniques of applied behaviour analysis (ABA)
Behaviour Support
Kameleon provides specialist behaviour support services to children, adolescents and adults who are NDIS funded or private clients. We offer services in various locations across NSW, QLD, SA and Tasmania.
Our Head office is located in Dee Why on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, where we have access to a therapy room to conduct assessments and therapy sessions.
We work under the philosophy of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) which focuses on decreasing behaviours of concern while concurrently teaching new skills. These skills include; social skills, communication, reading, self-regulation, adaptive learning skills, and a range of daily living skills.
We offer on-site ABA therapy and also generalist behaviour supports which include undertaking a functional assessment and the development of a comprehensive assessment report or behaviour support plan. We design individualised learning programs that are developed to close any skill deficits that may be identified through one of the various assessments we use.
Once the plan is in place, we then work alongside parents, schools and organisations to support the delivery of a consistent approach to both responding to behaviours of concern and also in the way we teach new skills. We collect data and monitor progress to ensure the strategies and programs are effective.
Consultations for Schools & Pre-schools
Working in collaboration with schools is a privilege for us.
Bringing the philosophy of ABA to individual classrooms, or designing a whole school behaviour program, is a gratifying part of our roles. Schools support a range of learners and often do not have access to the on-site training they need.
We work with schools and pre-schools by undertaking a training assessment, then we design a teacher education program to suit the schools specific learning requirements. We can develop a few workshops or provide whole school consultation services whereby schools can purchase several hours to utilise where and when they need support and training.
Social Skill Groups
Social skills groups are regularly scheduled times when a small group of children, around the same age, meet with a trained practitioner from the Kameleon Group. The practitioner will use role-play, games, field trips, and other exercises that will help the children learn how to interact in different social situations.
Parent Workshops
We facilitate parent workshops across the North Shore and Northern Beaches of NSW. The workshops vary from our two-hour general behaviour basics workshop to our comprehensive program that is delivered across 6 x 2-hour sessions. Staff Training
We know that the most successful behaviour support programs come from consistent and effective implementation. Once the comprehensive support plan is finalised, it is time to have all of the key people in the person’s life trained to follow the strategies.
Staff training is tailored to meet the needs of the staff and delivered on-site to reduce the overall costs to the organisation. We also facilitate generic behaviour support training to equip the staff to support various individuals.
