Behaviour Support Practitioner

Salary$80-$105K depending on experience
LocationNSW
Work TypeFull Time
  • Are you an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who is passionate about behaviour, and committed to person-centred best practice?
  • Would you like to join a progressive team who will support and value you?
  • Utilise your behaviour support skills!

This role will provide Behaviour Support services to your local area. We have a particular need for a practitioner who has experience working across all ages.

We are also looking for practitioners across Australia.
We are an NDIS-registered provider, and we work throughout QLD, NSW, VIC, WA and Tasmania. Some of our practitioners specialise, but across the entire organisation, we work with all ages, all diagnoses, and all behaviour.
We utilise an array of technologies to allow you to focus on delivering exceptional services in an efficient way – you probably didn’t get into this field for the admin time, so we work to keep that to a minimum!

About the role:
This role has the flexibility to either be part-time or full-time. This is a hybrid working from home and mobile role. You will be based at home (no commute!) and will go out to visit people in their homes, schools, workplaces, programs, and in the community.
Being a behaviour support specialist involves working with people and their support networks to bring about behavioural change. We do this by understanding the relationship between a person’s environment (social and physical) and their behaviour, and then influencing that person’s environment so that it sets them up for success. Another important part of the role is supporting skill development, to ensure people have effective ways to get their needs met.

Our practitioners meet with clients, conduct assessments, analyse behavioural data, develop strategies and Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs), support implementation of those strategies and plans, monitor progress, and review where necessary. The role involves other elements, too – connecting with other team members, attending training, participating in projects or research, facilitating workshops, and more. We are proud to have a diverse and passionate team, and we support people to lean into their strengths and interests.

About you

  • You are an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner preferably with 2+ years experience
  • You are registered with the NDIS as a suitable Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • You value integrity, collaboration, and transparency
  • You are passionate about this work – the science and the people
  • You are friendly, empathetic, and a clear communicator
  • You have relevant undergraduate qualifications (ABA, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Early Childhood, Teaching, Mental Health)
  • Ideally, you have postgraduate qualifications or are working toward them
  • You have experience working with children and people with disability, and you are familiar with the NDIS
  • You have experience undertaking functional assessments and developing PBSPs
  • You have experience in coaching families and support workers, ideally in implementing PBSPs that you have written
  • You are Covid-19 vaccinated + boosted, as per NDIS requirements
  • You have a current driver license, and an insured roadworthy vehicle
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening and WWC or WWVP check.
