David is a Behaviour Support Practitioner supporting participants across the Mid Coast Council Region, New South Wales.

With a deep-rooted background in both mainstream and special education, David brings a unique perspective to behaviour support. Having spent years working alongside school-aged students and young adults, he understands the complexities of the education system and the vital importance of supporting individuals through those big life transitions. He views himself as a bridge between clinical support and practical, everyday life. Because of his teaching history, his strategies are designed to be “classroom and life-ready” – practical, easy to implement, and focused on building functional skills. He specialises in helping young people find their voice and helping their support networks (teachers, parents, and carers) feel confident and equipped.

David believes that every young person deserves an environment where they can thrive, not just “get by.” Transitioning from school to adulthood can be a daunting chapter, and he is passionate about ensuring his participants have the self-regulation and communication tools they need to navigate the world with independence.

When David is not supporting his participants, you’ll often find him on the water competing in fishing competitions or camping and 4WDing with his two teenage sons. David also likes to decompress by bowling a few ends at the local bowling club.
